Question:
HI, I have a somewhat detailed and specific question. Ill try to break it down as best I can. I have a tandem axle boat trailer. Im considering replacing the current leaf spring suspension setup with an air suspension. My questions are as follows: 1. Are any of the air suspension replacements for leaf springs safe to use on a trailer that will be submerged regularly? 2. Ideally the kit will work with the square axles I currently have on my trailer pics below. 3. Im specifically looking for a kit that will not raise my trailer any, unless the air can be released to more than eliminate any height change. In fact, due to height constraints of my garage door, Im actually looking for a solution where I can release the air completely, move the trailer under the door opening, and then raise it back up. Ideally this would be at least 2 or 3 inches. I was looking at kit TSR4000T05 because it mentioned square axles but Id really find it helpful to get some advice on what Im trying to accomplish! Thanks

Lippert does offer an air-ride option, part # LC1565391, but they do not recommend it for boat trailers because it's not considered submersible.
If you're looking to improve the ride quality of your existing trailer, the Timbren Silent Ride # TSR4000T05 system you'd looked at is compatible with 2 inch square axle tubes, but it is not an air-ride system that would allow you to deflate it for more overhead clearance when entering or leaving your garage. When uncompressed, the system will have a 4-1/16 inch height measured from center axle beam to the underside of the trailer frame member where the Silent Ride would attach, as shown in the provided diagram. I don't know your current height measurement, but if the 4000 lb capacity of the unit, and the 28-3/4 inch center to center axle spacing would meet your needs, that's what I'd recommend.
I've linked you to a product description video for the Timbren Silent Ride trailer suspension.
