Is There a Sway Control Device for Towing Trailer that Does Not Require Drilling
Updated 07/22/2020 | Published 07/21/2020 >
Question:
We have a 2018 full size Range Rover SC, towing a 23 foot Airstream. We want to add a sway control system without weight distribution. Range Rover’s owner’s manual explicitly states to NOT use weight distribution systems. We would prefer to not drill into the trailer tongue, unless there are no other options. What system would you recommend we buy?

Expert Reply:
We have the Curt True Course part # C94VV which would work well to prevent sway and does not require you to drill into the trailer tongue like other options. This device normally does install with self tappers into the trailer tongue but if you didn't want to drill you could run heavy duty zip ties around the device to hold it to the trailer frame. This prevents sway by sensing it when it starts and then applying the trailer brakes till it stops.
