Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Front Hitch for a 2019 Chevy Tahoe
Updated 07/14/2020 | Published 07/10/2020 >
Question:
Im looking to install a front hitch on my 2019 Chevy Tahoe and trying to decide between the Draw Tite item #65064 and the Curt item #C31703. Ive read the QandA Best Front Hitch Ground Clearance for 2017 Chevy Tahoeinch post which indicates I should use the Curt product, but when reviewing the Curt product it says I MAY need to trim the front air dam whereas the Draw Tite product says I WILL need to trim the front air dam. This would indicate to me that the Draw Tite product would offer greater ground clearance, since it says trimming is required. Thanks so much for the help! Great site, great service, and looking forward to a great product, whichever it may be.

The front mount trailer hitch options for a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31073 and Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65064 both require a slight trimming of the front lower bumper fascia. I took a look at some install photos of either hitch and it does appear that the Curt hitch offers more ground clearance so that is what I recommend. Furthermore, the Curt hitch has a clearer install look since the crosstube is more hidden behind the bumper.
In regards to the trimming dimensions provide in the installations, these are just guide and the actual cutout could vary. It's also worth noting one could be on a Sierra 1500 and a Tahoe since the hitch fits both.
