Question:
i just got my ufp a-60 surge brake actuator fixed on my boat trailer. Never used the electric reverse lockout feature before. Heres what happened. I believe the electric lockout feature worked as i was able to back the boat into storage easy with no brakes locking up. But when i got the boat where i wanted it. Just a roll forward of the truck was not enough to pull the actuator back out. I had to put a wheel chock in front of the tires on the trailer then pull the truck forward to pull the actuator out. Is this common? Seems to be more work than just using the key to manually lock out brakes.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The electric lockout doesn't do anything to the actuator itself, it is a solenoid that doesn't let the fluid pressurize to case the wheel cylinder or brake caliper to engage. The coupler not returning to the forward location has more to do with the Replacement Shock Absorber Spring Kit for Titan/UFP Brake Actuators # TK71-758-00.
If you want to use the manual key, it won't be an issue.
