The instructions were clear, and installation was simple. I ended up selling the vehicle I installed it on about 6 months after installing, but I had zero issues while it was in my possession.

The trailer Hitch Wiring fits perfect on my Tacoma. No need to add wires is plug and play.
Product works well. Double sided tape on back of “controller” let’s go over time regardless of how clean vehicle surface is before installation.
I have not used the product yet but I have installed it my vehicle. Since I had a 4 pin already installed the installation was quite easy.
My dissapointment is with the lack of any tape or sleeving over the wires - epecally the wire run up to the 5 pin connector where it could easily get chafed over time. I will be adding some protection there on my own as my previous 4 pin came with it.

This is to praise the service I received from etrailer.com. They phoned me after I placed my order to confirm my shipping details. My product was shipped ONE day after my order was received! I loved their tracking link. It was a direct link from within my shipping notification, not a redirect to a shipper's site where one has to enter a tracking number. And the coolest part was the map that was displayed with the shipping location, my location and a cute little truck on the way. Loved it! Thanks for a great experience, I wish all sellers websites and customer service departments were as good as etrailer.com!!!!!
This harness installed quickly and easily. For the premium price, it should have included the optional mount bracket. I added a wire loom to the last couple of feet for protection. I dislike the price, but didn't want to splice into my trucks wiring with a universal harness. Shipping was fast. (Be sure to mount the box behind the left taillight before screwing down the ground wire. If not, you may not have enough ground wire to allow the box to reach up behind the taillight.)
Overall, I think that the product works well and is relatively easy to install. My only complaint is that it requires the user to drill a self tapping screw for the ground wire but the ground wire length coming out of the harness is too short to attach to a ground point if the device is installed per the instructions. My preferred location for installation (which is concurred by the instructions) is behind the driver's side tail light. This doesn't present any easily accessible spots for grounding and the ground wire as provided isn't long enough to reach a good ground point. I would prefer to keep the device behind the tail light because this is the best protected from the elements. Hanging it under the vehicle exposes it to all manner of elements and potential snags.
This is a relatively minor issue but is still an issue, nevertheless. Overall, this is a good product that is easy to install.

Still going strong after a year. No complaints.
Having done many vehicles the old way I recommend that you save yourself time, money, and frustration by purchasing the plug and play harness. You will thank everyone involved, trust me.

I replaced the vehicle with an identical model only 7 years newer. Your hitch and wiring harness were so much better than what came on the newer Tacoma that I swapped them out. Not that much extra work for a superior product, especially since I am keeping this truck for as long as I can.
