Can Weight Distribution Be Used On a 2003 Land Rover Discovery II with Curt Hitch

Question:

You have a bolt in trailer hitch option for the 2003 LR Disco that shows can be used with a WD hitch. Do you know if the steel grade is different than the LR supplied hitch? LR says not to install a WD hitch and wondering if the weak point is the hitch. Thank you,

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13455 is a great option for a 2003 Land Rover Discovery II. It is rated for weight distribution however the vehicle could not be and if that's the case then it should not be used. The trailer hitches are tested separately of the vehicle which is why it may be rated for this but not the vehicle.
