Question:
Hello, I just purchased a 2018 Land Rover Discovery to pull my 2 horse bumper pull trailer. It’s my 4th tow vehicle, but the first to NOT recommend using a WDH. I have previously used one and seek your advise on why they might make this recommendation. Also, do I need a new hitch or can I just use w/o the sway bars. Thank you for your assistance!

The 2018 Land Rover Discover has an integrated air system that is designed for trailer stability so they recommend not using the Weight Distribution hitches because their integrated system is designed to help with vehicle sag.
You can use your current weight distribution shank and head without the spring/sway bars if desired. That is what I'd do and save the additional cost. If you end up having some sway issues because you aren't able to use your weight distribution system with integrated sway control, then I recommend adding the Curt Electronic Sway Control System # C94VV or the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes # 335TSC-1000. Both of these systems will apply your trailer brakes as needed side to side to control trailer sway.
