Installation of Curt C31077 Front Mounted Receiver on 2018 Nissan Titan XD

Question:
I’ve been fighting with these tow hooks installation. Exactly how are they supposed to be mounted? Under the hitch frame or above? Also it seems that the front hole on the hooks are not used, is that true they match to the “sliding” area of the hitch? 2018 Nissan Titan XD SL.

Expert Reply:
Per step 1 of the installation instructions, the tow hook installation bolts and tow hooks are removed from the vehicle prior to installation. What the instructions DON'T very clearly state is that these items aren't reinstalled. The hardware included with the hitch is used and the tow hooks are left off.
The hitch has tow loops incorporated into it, so the factory tow hooks aren't necessary any longer.
