Brake and Hub Parts Needed for 4 Lift Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension

Question:

Im building a small offroad camper trailer to pull behind my Jeep. Im wanting to buy the 3,500 lb Timbren Axle Less Kit with 4 inch Lift for offroad tires and run 17inch wheels 5 bolt pattern with 35 inch x 12.50 tires. I want electric brakes with the setup and Im not sure what to get brake wise and hub wise. Can you give me a recommendation on the parts to make that work?

The correct braking system to use with the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle # ASR35HDS02 includes the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA and 2 of the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. Since you're wanting to use tires to match your Jeep with a trailer application there are a few problems with this setup; the hub/drum isn't compatible with 17" tires, plus for a trailer application using this size means all of the hubs have a 6-bolt pattern instead of the 5-bolt pattern you're looking for.

If you're willing to switch from using your Jeep wheels and tires I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire with 16" Black Mod Wheel # AM35010, otherwise you're going to have to go with a smaller tire and a wheel that matches the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.

If you don't already have a brake controller then I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR because it has settings that are perfect for towing on the highway or if you're off-road. Let me know the year and model of your Jeep and I can see if there is a plug in adapter that will match up so you don't have to splice anything.

Attached are some review and installation videos that you can check out.
