Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this DeeMaxx Galvanized Trailer Idler Hub. This marine grade trailer hub assembly is going to fit your 6,000-pound trailer idler axle with a Number 42 spindle, and this long, the long wheel studs are going to let you pair this with an over-the-hub brake rotor for disc brake applications or a custom wheel with a thick mounting face. This does feature a galvanized steel construction that's going to be durable and corrosion resistant. So this is going to be great for use on a boat or a snowmobile trailer. And this has a bolt pattern of six on five and a half inches.
And to measure the bolt hole diameter on a pattern with an even number of bolts, as you can see you're just going to simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the other bolt hole directly across, and that gives you your bolt hole diameter of five and a half inches. And some other information that you're going to find helpful I have there on your screen. The dimensions of the wheel studs, it's a half an inch in diameter and two and a half inches long. And this has a weight capacity of 3,000 pounds. So when this one is matched with the one on the other side of the axle, that's where it's going to meet your 6,000-pound axle capacity.
And this does include the races. They are pre-installed as you can see here. And the bearings, the grease seal, and the grease cap are sold separately. And just to give you that information on the bearings first, the inner bearing is 25580. The outer bearing number is 15123.
And the races again, that are pre-installed, the inner race number is 25520, and the outer race is 15245. And then the grease seal, you'll need to pick that up as well. And the grease seal number you will need is GSS-2125DL. Now this hub weighs about a little over seven pounds and that's going to conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.

I installed new hubs because I ordered the wrong Hydra Star brake system (rotors only), the hubs assembled without issues. I also installed the Comfort Ride Slipper System when I did the Hydra Star brakes.
I have around 250 miles on this setup traveling through SE Kansas, SW Missouri and NW Arkansas. The road from Joplin to Eureka Springs AR was a hair raising experience, 2 lane 15 to 35 mph curves with the side of the mountain 3 feet from the edge of the road. I was glad to have the new hydraulic brake system, I would not tow another camper without them.
I know this review covers more than the hubs but everything worked well. I would purchase everything again. I would also like to mention shipping, I ordered them Friday at 4pm and received on Tuesday. Thanks
Although galvanized, I sprayed the hubs with galvanizing paint (2 coats) to act as a paint primer. Then sprayed with black paint (2 coats). No rust and paint is tightly adhered one year later. I also purchased stainless grease caps at installation because the standard caps always rust. Fit, form, function, and finish worked great for my saltwater boat trailer.
