This setup is made for serious towing weight. The Triangle ST235/85R16 radial tire carries a 14-ply rating and delivers up to 4,400 lbs of capacity at 110 psi. It’s matched with a 16" x 6" steel wheel rated to the same load and meets DOT specifications, so you can count on it mile after mile without worrying about overloading or heat build-up on the highway.
The radial design couples the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial. All-steel belts add toughness and extend tread life while keeping rolling resistance low. The computer-generated tread pattern and premium rubber compound boost traction in wet or dry conditions, giving you a confident ride wherever you tow.
The Dexstar modular steel wheel starts with an e-coat primer and finishes with a black powder coat that resists rust. That means corrosion protection you can trust through rain, road grime, or coastal humidity. It also gives the tire-and-wheel combo a clean, modern look that stays sharp over time.
This tire-and-wheel assembly arrives ready to mount, saving time compared to unmounted components. It comes with a 2-year limited warranty on the wheel and a 1-year worry-free guarantee on the tire—if it’s damaged within the first year, it’ll be replaced at no charge. That kind of coverage makes hitting the road easier and more confident from day one.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Triangle ST235/85R16 Load Range G Heavy-Duty Radial Trailer Tire with the 16-inch Dexstar Black Steel Mod Wheel with an 8 on 6-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is going to be great for your stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This special trailer tire, or ST tire, has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. Now, this tire is created specifically for trailers, and it's not intended for use on other vehicles.
This heavy-duty radial tire is great for highway use. It is constructed with all-steel belts that will enhance the durability and extend the tread life of the tire. And the computer-generated tread design and premium rubber compounds materials are gonna give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. So as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is an ST235/85R16. This is a load range G, meaning it has a 14-ply rating.
The maximum load is 4,400 pounds at 110 PSI. And this has a speed rating of L, indicating a maximum speed of 75 miles per hour. Now, this has a sturdy steel Dexstar wheel. And as you can see, it does feature a modular design. And this features a black powder coat finish over an e-coat primer, so this is going to be rust resistant.
And the wheel does use beveled stud holes, which are going to help keep your wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. That's going to eliminate the need for constant retightening of the lug nuts. And the dimensions of our wheel, beginning with the diameter, measuring bead seat to bead seat, it's 16 inches in diameter, and the width of our wheel is going to be 6 inches wide. This has a bolt pattern of 8 on 6-1/2 inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which our bolt holes sit.
So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole directly across from it. The wheel capacity is 4,400 pounds. The wheel stud size is 1/2 inch by 20 or 9/16 inch by 18. The center cap is sold separately, but if you pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 4.9 inches. Now, this tire and wheel assembly does meet the Department of Transportation specifications. This tire has a one-year worry-free guarantee, so if within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, Triangle will replace it at no charge to you. Well, that's gonna wrap up our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Great tire fast delivery
It was very simple to order the tire for my trailer. No issues. Tire arrived in 4 days. Was exactly what I ordered.
Excellent service, speed and product. Its exactly what I was looking for and I received it in record time. (2 days) If there is anything else I need, I will ensure its purchased from etrailer in the future.
I purchased these wheels and tires to replace the ones that were original wheels on my rig. I'll stop the original wheels were 20 inch with only a 4 inch tire and that really took away from the suspension. These new tires and wheels have given me confidence in my suspension and protecting my frame of my 2010 carriage Damani. They seem to be rolling really well and I'm grateful.
