Determining RV Roof Vent Lid Replacement Needed
Updated 06/09/2020 | Published 06/05/2020 >
Question:
Im not sure where you take your measurements, all my dimensions have fractions of an inch, ie. 14 1/4inch X 14 1/4inch or 13 1/2inch X 13 1/2 I need to replace two lids, different type of vents, but not sure where to take measures. Overall dimensions of lid? Lip of sheet metal housing? Outside edges of inner lid flange? WHERE? Thanks

Almost all lid replacements fit the same size frame as the industry standard is 14-1/4 inches at the opening. This is often referred to within the industry as 14x14 even though it is technically larger. All of the replacement lids are designed for the standard size vent as that is what all the manufacturers use. The differences lie in the hinge style and the lift mechanism location.
I've attached a photo to show the different vent hinge styles so you can determine the correct fit and then you simply need to determine if it is a side mount lift mechanism or center mount. I've also linked the page to all the replacement options. Let me know if you need further help.
