Question:
I see a lot of questions on here pertaining to axel and hub set ups to run off road tires on off road trailers. I can’t figure what set up will accommodate my situation. I want to run a timberen HD axel with trailer brakes that will accommodate the bigger off road tires to match my Jeep. But I also want to run the same rims as the Jeep on the trailer. This way I have one on board spare. All of the 5 on 5 hubs I see can only go up to a 15” rim? The Jeep has a 17” x 8.5 5 on 5 rims with 33” wild peak tires. Is there any way to get a timberen hd, 4” lift, brake flange axel and a 5on5 hub/ drum set up?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The only Timbren Axle-Less suspensions offered that are compatible with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern hub/drum and off-road tires has a 2200 lb capacity, part # ASR1THDS01. For brake drums, you'd use # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K and # AKEBRK-35-SA self-adjusting brake assemblies.
You are correct, the hubs available for a 5 on 5 bolt pattern are only good for wheels up to 15 inches, because on wheels larger than that, there won't be enough of the wheel in contact with the hub face, and too much lateral force could cause the wheel studs to snap.
So, long story short we can do part of what you're wanting to do, but not all of it.
