Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 to Tow 17k GVWR Trailer
Question:
Hi, Possibly buying a 5th wheel camping trailer. Advice on Curt 25k, 24k, 20k. I like to overboard most of the time! What might determine which one i can use. GVWR 17k, Hitch wt 3k, length 41 Tow vehicle, Chevy 3500HD Duramax, CrewCab, 8 bed, Factory installed hitch/puck system

The A-Series Curt hitches are the way to go over the Q-Series from what you mentioned. The A-Series has an updated head and jaw design that allows the king pin to be held tighter which translates into a smoother ride qualify. So since your trailer has a 17k GVWR I'd go with the Curt A20 part # C16064 which fits your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 OEM rail kit directly and you'd have 3k of extra capacity.
If you think you'd end up towing a heavier trailer at some point the A25 part # C16066 is also a really great option.
