What Puck System Does My 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 Have?

Question:

I recently purchased a 2018 3500 Chevrolet. In the bed is what I am led to believe is a BandW puck set up It has the removable gooseneck ball + 4 puck holes. I had the puck system hitch in my f350 I sold. So my question is. What is the appropriate 5th wheel hitch for this set up. Nearly everything I see is the companion set up. I believe that is the wrong one for my truck. Any help is appreciated. I know we have a BandW dealer nearby. But the guy I spoke too was not certain of my exact need Thank you

I would be happy to help you sort out what system is in the bed of your 2018 Chevy Silverado. I can tell you with 100% certainty that you do not have a B&W puck system because B&W uses the Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck System item # BWGNRK1016 to attach their 5th wheel hitches and it only has a square gooseneck hole in the center of the truck bed. If your truck has a gooseneck center hole and 4 puck shape circles in a square around it you most likely have the OEM puck system that came as an option from GM when you truck was built. The GM puck system is 27" on center from left to right and 22" top to bottom. I have attached a picture below that will show these dimensions so you can confirm. If your measurements come back as something different go ahead and send me an email with them and I will find out what you have in your truck.

Assuming you have the Chevy OEM puck system you are going to want the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs item # BWRVK3700. B&W makes the best 5th wheel hitches in the towing business. The legs on this hitch will drop right into the pucks in your bed.

If you have the shorter bed Silverado you will want the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3770.

Don't forget your lube plate. The Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10" Diameter item # RP83002 will prevent scratches on your fifth-wheel's skid plate and ease trailer hookup.
