Do I need a spindle washer over the outside bearing before putting the nut back on ?

Expert Reply:

Yes there should be a thrust bearing/washer between the outer bearing and the nut that goes on to protect the bearing.

What you want is Washer For 1" Spindle part # SW1000. This will replace the missing one and get you back on the road. Keep in mind this is for the very common 1" spindle diameter which is what the hub you looked at uses if you have a different size than this let me know.
