Camera Kit Recommendation For Travel Trailer to See Behind Trailer and On Either Side

Updated 06/20/2020 | Published 02/19/2020

Question:

I have a long travel trailer with a terrible out-swing on turns where I could tear the sides up by striking something. Ideally Id like three cameras: both sides and a rear view. Options? Thanks.

We have a really great solution for your situation with the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System # FCE48TASL-05. This kit comes with a rear facing camera and two side cameras so that you can see all around your trailer as you are towing to prevent hitting anything. This kit also has really great reception overall as well, so it is the best solution all around.

I was going to buy the complete set with the side cameras but I have a 2019 Heartland Bighorn Model 3270RS and the passenger side of the fifth wheel or the entry side has an awning support bracket less than a foot in front of the side marker light. Will I be able to see anything down that side of the trailer or is the awning going to make that side camera worthless?

I'm not sure where exactly where that support bracket is in relation to the clearance light so this is hard for me to say. The camera will sit just an inch or two out from the side of the trailer - so if the bracket is right behind it then it will likely obstruct the view. What you can do for now is go with the Furrion Vision S # FOS07TASF, which is the same kit but without the side clearance lights. Then if you decide later that the side cameras will provide benefit you can always add them with part # FCE48TASL.
