The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2020 BMW X5 is the Draw Tite # 76288 as it has plenty of towing capacity, is the more popular 2 inch hitch size, and has a mostly hidden appearance which also helps with ground clearance. Check out the picture I attached for more info as well.

For trailer wiring we also have the zero splice kit part # 119250KIT that I recommend as well. I attached an install video for this on a similar X5 as yours for you to check out too.
