Could 2015 Chevrolet Equinox Tow an 850 lb Trailer

Can it haul a u-haul 4x8 trailer 850 pounds?

I looked up the towing capacity of your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and found that it can tow up to 1,500 lbs. So a 850 lb trailer like you mentioned wouldn't be an issue at all. So you'll want a hitch like the etrailer hitch # E98865 that you referenced. This is a 2 inch hitch with more capacity than you'd need which would work really well.
You'll also need trailer wiring to control the lighting of the trailer. For that we have the Tekonsha kit part # 118494 which will provide a 4-way.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
