Difference Between Roadmaster 195125 and 195225 Spare Tire Carriers?

Im confused about which model is best or works for me. One answer said a 2016 Promaster 3500 should use the 195225 model but another answer, although for a Sprinter chassis, said to use the 195125 since it rotates further down to allow rear door to open. My concern is precisely whether I can open the rear door or not. These two answers have confused me since rotating down further sounds best but the 1st answer refers specifically to a Promaster 3500 chassis. Can someone help? Thanks,

The difference between the # RM-195125 and the # RM-195225 is that they are designed for different sized wheels; the # RM-195125 is designed to handle up to 16.5" tall wheels where the # RM-195225 can hold between 16" and 24.5" tall wheels. Whether or not you will be able to open the rear doors is going to depend on a few different factors. You'll first need to have at least 12-1/8" from the top of your hitch receiver opening to the bottoms of the doors in order to clear the bracket that sticks up.
Once you clear that, with the spare tire folded down, you'll need to make sure that the diameter of your tires is not taller than the distance from the ground to the bottom of your rear doors. For example, let's say your tires are 30" in diameter; you'll need at least 30" from the ground to the bottom of your door to clear the spare tire. Because these spare tire racks tilt in both directions, you would be able to open at least one of the doors with the spare tire folded down the other direction. Typically the smaller wheels that the # RM-195125 carries will allow you a bit more flexibility in opening the doors, but this is a fairly general statement based on it carrying smaller wheels/tires.
You'll want to take some measurements (mentioned above) on your Travato RV in order to determine if either of these spare tire carriers will allow you to carry a spare tire and still access the rear cargo area.
