How you run the power wire for trailer wiring on your 2020 Rav 4 is a personal choice. The directions do not give you a specific path to take, but it does give some suggestions. The wire will have to start at the back of your Rav 4, near the tail lights and then route to the battery up front in the engine compartment.
I have installed many wiring kits and I prefer to route the wire to the outside of the vehicle, and underneath along the frame. This prevents having to take the interior apart, and running up to the firewall, then finding a hole to get into the engine bay.
Fortunately on your Rav 4, on the driver's side floor of the hatch area, there is a grommet with factory wires running to the outside. You can use this to get the wire outside, then route it underneath towards the front. There's a plastic panel underneath, this will help hide the wire, and keep it protected. Just make sure that you keep the wire as far away from major heat sources like the exhaust, or any moving parts that may damage it.
I always recommend having extra zip ties to help secure everything, you can use part # DW05727-25.
I have attached a video of the Curt T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56434. It shows helpful tips of how, and where to connect and route all of your wires. I've also linked an article about running a power wire for trailer wiring.
