What is the inside dimension of the mounting flange? The outside is 3inch

The inside mounting channel width is just under 2 inches, while the outside width (as you mentioned), is just under 3 inches, designed to fit into a 3 inch wide channel, like # BDAC5000300. The overall length is 10 inches, as shown in the attached photo.
