This right here is the CURT Adjustable Trailer Coupler. So this is gonna fit your channel like this. If you have one on your trailer already, great. If you don't, we do have some in our warehouse over there. So you can add it to your cart if you decide to go with this style coupler. What you wanna make sure of if you already have it on your trailer is the interior width of the channel, you wanna make sure it's gonna be three inches wide, the holes need to be 5/8 of an inch in diameter, and they need to be spaced out two inches from center to center.

Our coupler's made of a heavy-duty steel construction, black powder-coated finish, so it's not going to rust away and seize up over time. This is going to be pretty high up there when it comes to weight capacities, gross trailer weight, 15,000 pounds, and the tongue weight is gonna be 2,250 pounds. And you wanna make sure that you have a 2 5/16 inch ball, which that is what this coupler is gonna work with. To hook up to your trailer, we wanna take this pin here. I like how it has this little tab, so it's pretty easy to get undone.

We wanna pull that out, and you don't have to worry about putting it anywhere 'cause it is connected via chain. I lose things and I appreciate it when I can just drop it and it stays there. And then, this is a squeeze latch. So what this is gonna do, you're gonna squeeze on it and push it forward. It's gonna catch itself right there.

So if we we're to hook up a ball, go like this, go up like this, you can hit it like that and you're all connected up. And you do wanna make sure to replace this pin whenever we're done, find the hole, put it in there, snap it into place. To disconnect it, do the same exact thing in reverse order pretty much. You just pull this pin, bring this up, and you're good to go. As far as mounting this, it's pretty easy.

As long as you have the channel with the right dimensions, it's gonna work. The hardware is included, and you can see the pretty color of it, this is grade eight hardware, so it's gonna be a little bit harder than the grade five and all the ones underneath of it. So they did give you a nice hardware. Some of it does not, some of these couplers don't come with hardware, this one does, you have a lock nut, a washer on both sides, and you're good to go. All you need is a 24-millimeter socket and wrench to tighten 'er on down. Let's see how much length it's gonna add to your trailer from the very, very edge of our channel to the very end, it's gonna be about 7 1/2 inches. And then, from the center of the mounting holes to the center of where our ball's gonna be, right about here, that's gonna be about seven inches. It comes with the hardware, which it's nice, you don't have to grab that separately. But there is one thing I do suggest that you get, and this is for all your trailers, and that is a lock. So there's two different ways we can do it. One, we could do a pin-style lock, which we have one that is designed for multiple, different spans, so it's gonna fit through this one pretty easily, but you can use it on all your other trailers. If you're at a construction site or you're leaving your trailer outside, you want it to be there when you get up and you need to use it, so you can use the pin style to lock multiple, different types of trailers if you wanna do it that way. Or there's another one that actually goes right around here and covers this whole entire area, so no one can even attempt to try to hook up and chain it up. So those are two things that I definitely recommend with any trailer coupler. If you're looking for a heavy-duty trailer coupler for your trailer because you're hauling some heavier equipment, this is gonna be on the higher end of that, we have one that's exactly the same. It's the etrailer one, that's gonna be a little bit more cost effective. But this is a heavy-duty coupler for heavy-duty stuff, and it's nice that you can adjust it within our channel. So I do think that the CURT Adjustable Trailer Coupler is gonna be a great option for you..

  • Is There a Difference Between Curt & etrailer Adjustable Channel Mount 15k Coupler
The only difference between the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler - Squeeze Latch - 2-5/16" Ball - 15,000 lbs # C25328 and Trailer Coupler - Adjustable Channel Mount - Squeeze Latch - Black - 2-5/16" Ball - 15,000 lbs # CTA-280 is the manufacturer. Curt makes the # C25328 while Ram makes the # CTA-280, but and while neither is made in the USA we do have an option for that if you'd like. • Recommended Coupler Lock for Curt Channel-Mount Coupler
Based on the lip on the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler - Squeeze Latch - 2-5/16" Ball - 15,000 lbs # C25328 you will be unable to use the # e98895. The # e87ZR might fit, but I would question how secure it is once again based on the lip on that coupler. Instead, I would recommend the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Couplers # FA86-0015-316. This is a universal lock that will secure over the top of the coupler and uses a bolt-blocked locking system to prevent...

  • Replacement Bearing Kit for Dexter 7,000 lbs Axles
Hey Ryan, thanks for the information. We have two different bearing kits for Dexter 7,000 lbs axles. Item # BK3-210 and item # BK3-200 which has a a slightly larger grease seal. The bearings and races are the same size in both kits. Each kit will replace one hubs bearings, races, and seals. What you'll need to do is measure your spindle where the grease seal rides for it's inner diameter. That spot is labeled B on the diagram below. If it's 2.125" you need item # BK3-210. If it's 2.25"...

  • Will the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler Fit a 1-3/4" Hole Spacing
The industry standard for channel couplers is 2" spacing (center to center) with 5/8" holes. If you have something different then we would not have options for this and therefore I recommend simply welding on a new channel with standard spacing such as the Curt 3-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket part # C48610 which matches up with the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler part # C25328.

  • Is there an Adjustable Trailer Coupler that has a Mounting Hole Spacing of 1.5"?
I am sorry but the industry standard for channel couplers is 2" spacing (center to center) with 5/8" holes. We do not have any options for a 1-1/2" spacing. My only solution is to recommend welding on a new channel with standard spacing like the Curt 3-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket item # C48610 which would work with the 2" Pro Series Adjustable-Channel Coupler item # PSA200S0303 or the 2-5/16" Curt Channel-Mount Coupler item # C25328.

  • Recommended Lock for Safety Pin Hole on Curt Channel-Mount Coupler
The Curt Channel-Mount Coupler # C25328 has a 5/16" diameter pin hole. You can use a lock like the etrailer Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock # e98883. This has a 1/4" diameter with a 2-1/2" span and 5 locking positions. It also has a steel construction with the plastic cap for the key slot to prevent corrosion.
