Newer German vehicles like your 2015 Mercedes ML350 have a harder time with trailer lighting that is LED as it ends up tricking the vehicle into thinking there's a bulb issue. So the solution is a 7-way to 4-way adapter that has load resistors built in to take care of the problem. For that you'd need just the # C35FR and you'd be set.
