Question:

Hello. I just leased a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Altitude. It has dual exhaust tips that are fitted into rear fascia. I watched installation video on 2019 Cherokee which did not have the same type of rear exhaust. Will the above hitch install as the video depicts or will other steps be needed? The video makes the install appear fairly simple, especially with those wires which I assume are supplied. Also this is a brand new leased vehicle so I cannot start cutting any fascia. This hitch will be used for a 2 bike, bike carrier. Since that has also not been purchased as yet, do you have any recommendations? Thanks.

According to Curt the Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13171 is not a confirmed fit for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Altitude and instead you'll need to use the part # C13395. This actually looks better on your new vehicle as it has a hidden crosstube that sits up under the vehicle. Some Jeep Cherokee models require fascia trimming but if you check out the attached installation video you can see that we just had to knock off some of the seam foam from the 2019 Jeep Cherokee for the trailer hitch brackets to fit properly. Yes the exhaust was removed for the install but nothing is modified on it and it is put right back in place afterwards. I have attached some photos of this trailer hitch on the 2019 Cherokee Limited that you can reference for the look.

As far as a bike rack goes, I highly recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV22G because it is a wheel mount bike rack so it is compatible with any frame style that doesn't have a front fender, and it has an aluminum construction that does a much better job at resisting corrosion than steel racks do so you can be confident that you'll have a great looking bike rack for years to come. The NV 2.0 can be upgraded to a 4-bike rack with the Add-On # NA22G if your biking party grows any bigger, and the integrated bike repair stand means none of you will be left behind if something happens to your bike while you're out at the trail.

The NV 2.0 is also available as a base model with part # BA22B which has a matte black finish (which is becoming more popular) and doesn't include the bike repair stand. You can add the stand and additional trays if you'd eventually like to. These can be found as parts # TDKB and # BA02B respectively.
