Question:

How do I install this on my 2004 Dodge pickup tailgate? Since it came with no instructions or extra parts such as screws, etc. I need to know how this bracket is suppose to fit my truck. With the way its made it will not flush up to the tailgate and the screw holes dont allow for screws to be put into the tailgate.

The scissor step bracket has two L shaped pins on the inside of the angle iron. Measure the center to center distance between the two pins. You will want to drill two 7/16 inch holes into the tailgate that are the same distance apart as the pins that are 5/8 of an inch back from the edge of the tailgate (see Photo).

The L shaped pins would insert into the holes drilled into the tailgate, so that it locks into place, and the steps would clip to the front of the bracket.
