Question:
I need advice on removing the round nuts from the shafts on my RM All Terrain tow hitch. I have soaked them for 48 hours in Kroil. One moves slightly, the other still frozen. I want to do a thorough cleaning of the shafts before I reassemble with new bushings. Hoping to reuse the round nuts but will order new if needed.

You mention replacing the bushings so I believe you are referring to the yoke assembly 3/4" lock nut that you are having trouble removing. If you can get leverage on the nut with a breaker bar then it will help break it loose. The last resort would be to heat the lock nut up very carefully with a torch to make it expand so you can remove it. I confirmed with Roadmaster that this would be okay as a last resort tactic.
The nuts would definitely need to be replaced with Universal Jam Nut for Roadmaster Towbars part # RM350264-10 and if the through bolt is rusted you can replace it with part # RM350191-00. The Replacement Split Nylatron Bushing for Sterling Tow Bars is part # RM-200029-00.
