Question:
I have an older roadmaster sterling tow bar . My serial number is 026962. I don’t see a model number on the tag. It’s probably about 20 plus years old . I read that there is a difference in the rebuild parts for the earlier unit. Can you suggest which kit is the proper one . My problem is the arms have become very difficult to extend and collapse and I believe the one arm does not lock at all . Thank you

Hey Anthony, we've checked with Roadmaster in the past and for your serial number the correct release arm repair kit would be the part # RM-910003-30. Due to the age of your tow bar it would probably be a good idea to replace it with a new Sterling part # RM-576 though. After a lot of miles Roadmaster does recommend retiring tow bars as everything starts to fatigue. The number they like to use as the replacement point is 70k assuming it's been maintained over the years.
