Why Does the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Come With a Red Wire Instead of Black

Updated 09/10/2019 | Published 09/09/2019

Question:

If the 12 volt supply wire is to be black to the connector and plug, then why do you only supply red wire for your RV and vehicle 12 volt supply kits? Shouldnt there be a black wire from the RV fuse block to the connector, and black wire from the plug to the vehicle fuse block? Then red wire from the fuse blocks to the batteries?

I think you are talking about the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kits, part # RM-156-75 and part # RM-156-25 which are actually put together by Roadmaster. Generally speaking, automobiles use red for power which is why that is the color of the wire included with the kit whereas trailer's use back. That said, I can assure you this will not have any effect on performance and it won't hurt to use a red wire going to the circuit breaker and a black wire leaving or vice versa.
