Question:
We have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT V8. Want to convert the factory 4-pin to a 7-pin or ideally, 7-pin, 4-pin combo. Stock 4-pin harness connects to a rectangular rather than round harness. Will part 118243 work for this? If not, please suggest alternative. Thanks!!

I do have an option for you but the Tow Package Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118247 won't fit a 2001 Ford Expedition as the pins are not in the correct positions. Instead, you will need to use the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. The orange and blue wires in the attached photo will need to be cut and then ran to the black and blue wires on the adapter (blue to blue, black to orange). The two 4-ways will then plug into one another and you need to ground the white wire but that will be all that is required for wiring. If you don't have power to either the orange or blue wires then odds are you just need to install some fuses.
I wish we had a plug and play 7-way for you but that does not exist for a 2001 Ford Expedition.
