Does Curt Still Require Using Stabilizing Straps with Their Trailer Hitches

Is the Curt Stabilizing strap only recommended on Curt hitches or do you recommend them on factory/dealer installed hitches as well? I have not seen this recommended with other hitches. I guess what Im asking is a Curt hitch as strong as a dealer installed hitch on a Subaru Outback? Thanks.

Actually Curt no longer requires the use of the stabilizer straps like the # 18050 with non-supported loads like bike racks with their hitches so it's not something you'd have to worry about!

Stabilizer straps are no longer required when using a Curt hitch like the #C13130; this was an older requirement for some Curt hitches when using a bike rack only, but they have since determined that it is not required or recommended any longer. You…

I have great news, you actually don't have to use the stabilizer straps with the Curt hitches like part #C11132 with bike racks like the Thule Helium part #TH9043PRO. They actually changed that requirement a while back so it would not be needed.
