Upgrading 2018 Ram 3500 From Air Lift Load Lifter 5000 to 7500 XL Air Bag Kit

Updated 07/29/2020 | Published 08/18/2019

Question:

I currently have the airlift 5000 ultimate plus air bag kit installed on my truck. Since I currently have a slide in camper I was thinking I would move up to to the airlift 7500xl bags. Would I be able to just replace the bags or do I need to buy a whole new kit? Thanks. my truck - 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 SRW.

The difference between the LoadLifter 5000 part # AL88295 you have now and the 7500 XL # AL57595 is more than just air bags. If you check out the attached pictures you can see the brackets are all different as well. About the only thing I know you'll be able to reuse is the air lines.

If you remove the 5000 kit as a whole you'd have better luck trying to sell it second hand as a complete kit compared an incomplete kit.

Recommended air lift suspension for a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 dually pulling a 40’x8’ gooseneck livestock trailer.

For your 2018 Ram 3500 4x4 dually I highly recommend the Firestone Red Label # F2710, which offers a robust 7,500 pound capacity for that large gooseneck and is completely compatible with the in-bed brackets you already have installed for the hitch (whether it's factory or aftermarket). Adding an onboard compressor system like # F2097 is also a really good idea so you can easily adjust the bags from the comfort of your cab.
