Review of the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs

Speaker 1: Today we'll be taking a look at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers for the rear axle. See etrailer.com for your truck's fit.Now here's what our airbags look like installed. The reason you're gonna want airbags on your truck is because if you're towing a heavy trailer or have a heavy load in the bed of your truck you want to maintain your factory ride height. As we add weight to the back of the truck, the back will go down and the front end will come up, and this affects a few things. Number one, it affects our headlight angle. Our headlights are now facing more towards the sky and we could potentially blind oncoming drivers, and where they're not aimed down properly at the road like they should be.

Also, it'll take weight off the front end of the truck so we have less steering and handling capabilities. It'll also cause a little bit more front tire wear because the front tires now develop positive camber as the weight's taken off of them, so it'll cause more wear to the outside edge of your tires.Another side effect of this is as we take off the weight from our front tires, our front brakes are no longer capable of working at their peak efficiency because our front brakes do the majority of the braking on our truck. That's where our Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs come in. By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000, you can bring your ride height back towards stock so you don't have to worry about your handling characteristics or your steering, or your braking abilities being affected when you're towing that heavy trailer or have a heavy load in the bed of your truck. This will make for a smoother and a safer ride. Now, what many of our customers like about these airbags compared to other ones on the market is that these have an internal jounce bumper inside.

So, even though we are replacing the factory bump stop, the jounce bumper inside here will still act like it for when we have full suspension travel, so we're not sagging down and having a very harsh ride when contact that. Now, these airbags are designed to work between air pressures of five and 100 PSI. The more air that you put in them, the more weight leveling capability that they have. They will support up to 5,000 pounds of weight, whether that be from a pin weight of gooseneck or a fifth wheel trailer, or having a large load in the bed of a truck. And they can be inflated equally for front to back leveling or independently of one another for side to side leveling. The air springs are made of a high quality two ply fabric reinforced rubber.

The airbags have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protects the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might come through the airbags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride. Our customer, Kevin M., says, "This was a great addition in my 2011 Ford F250 King Ranch. Instructions we're clear, and installation was not too difficult.

Ride is very good whether pulling my fifth wheel trailer or not. I really like the internal jounces so that I can maintain minimal air pressure during normal driving."And, now we'll take our airbags out on our test course. On the left side of the screen, you'll notice the vehicle without the airbags installed. And on the right side of the screen, you'll notice the vehicle with the airbags installed. The first part of our test course, we'll be doing some evasive maneuvering, doing some quick turns and side to side. You'll notice how unstable and unsettled the suspension is without the airbags installed, and with them installed, you'll notice how much more settled and more control we have over the vehicle. There is less body roll than we had without them. And the next part of our test course, we'll be going over some bumps, and you'll notice without the airbags installed how much suspension travel we don't have. The suspension can't do its job properly because it's sagging down, and doesn't have the amount of travel that it needs in order to help absorb the bumps. With the airbags installed, you can see how much less jouncing and jarring there is going on. It's because the suspension is able to do its job properly with having the weight being supported by the airbags. This will give us much more handling and braking ability with the airbags installed, giving us the safety that we need when we're towing a heavy load or have a lot of weight in the back of our vehicle. And that completes our look at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers for the rear axle.
