I do have a great option for the 2018 Volkswagen Passat GT but the Eco-Hitch part # 306-X7317 is not a fit at this time.

I contacted Curt and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11234 is a fit for the GT model. It is also a concealed cross tube design much like the Eco-Hitch design. The only difference is the Curt hitch is a 1-1/4" and the Eco-Hitch is 2" so the weight capacity is lower. The Curt hitch can handle 200 lb tongue weight but that is enough to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier on the Volkswagen.
