I have a 2016 Passat SE with the technology package. Is the trunk sensor the only one that would be affected by this hitch? I don’t need/use that sensor anyways, and this hitch seems to be the best available option.

The only trailer hitch we have available that's confirmed to fit your Passat SE with the Technology Package is the Draw-Tite # 24880. I believe there is more factory wiring that gets in the way of the EcoHitch model - more than just the trunk sensor.
