Question:

Hello Jon, you sent me a couple of e mails regarding my quest to find a ladder rack for a 2016 Toyota Tundra pick up. The truck has a 6 ft or 6.5 ft bed which is equipped with utility rails. The truck also has a Truxedo Lo Pro QT tonneau cover installed. I am trying to find a rack that will work with the Troxedo cover so I can put a light rowboat or canoe on top. We also tow a camper. I want to be able to use both the truxedo and rack at the same time so I can keep my stuff under cover while driving. Thank's for what ever help that you give.

Would you be able to let me know what length bed you have and if you have the deck rail system on your Tundra or not? Also, do you already have a TruXedo cover and if so which one to you have?

Thank you for the info about the TruXedo Lo Pro QT # TX545801 on your 2016 Toyota Tundra. Since this tonneau cover mounts inside your bed rails we actually have a few options for you to add a ladder rack. The first option is the Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-610 which is great because it has a 1,250 lb weight capacity, can easily slide along the rails, plus the crossbars utilize a standard T-Slot so you can use a track mount carrier like the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier # INXA445 for your boat. A more cost-effective option is the Aluminum Adarac Pro # A4001671 or the Steel Adarac # A4001678. Both of these offer a 500 lb weight capacity and they do have adjustable uprights but you need a tool to relocate them as opposed to the hand knob for the Thule system. The other thing to know is that these use square bars without a T-Slot so you wouldn't be able to use a carrier for your boat.
