Installing Trailer Brake Controller on 2015 Toyota Tacoma with Tow Package
Updated 08/02/2019 | Published 08/01/2019 >
Question:
Im installing a Prodigy P2 Electronic Brake Control for my new trailer. My 2015 Toyota Tacoma has the towing package installed. Is there supposed to be an empty plug to plug my trailer brake control harness into or do I need to unplug an existing one? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Yes, if your 2015 Toyota Tacoma came equipped with the factory 7-Way connector at the rear there will be an empty brake controller port behind the dash to which you can install your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 using the Plug-In Adapter Harness # 3040-P.
On your Tacoma the port might be pretty well hidden behind other factory wires, as you can see in the install video I attached on an earlier model year.
