Will 2-1/2 inch Hitch Extender Cut Capacity When Towing Trailer

Question:

if i have a 2 1/2 receiver and need to extend will it reduce the hitch weight and towing capacity when pulling my 20foot trailer.

Hitch extenders/adapter cut the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent due to the added leverage and movement.

So we have hitch extenders like the part # HR26 that fit a 2-1/2 inch hitch you have to make sure the diminished capacity won't be an issue by verifying the capacity of the trailer and hitch.
