I asked a question earlier about the Saris Bones 2 bike trunk mount rack and if it would work on my 2018 Honda CRV-EX. I was answered, ”yes,” and sent a very helpful installation video, However, I still don’t see how the upper straps would work over the spoiler at the top of my trunk. It seems like the weight of the bikes pulling down would crush or bend the spoiler. Please explain how to attach without damage.

Yes, the Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier # SA805BL that you referenced will fit and work perfectly on your 2018 Honda CRV-EX. The Touring is simply a trim model of the CR-V and there are certain trunk-mount carriers that won't fit its slightly different rear profile so we have to label our fit guide to reflect this.
The Saris Bones Carrier though actually fits both the standard and Touring models so there aren't any potential issues with your CR-V.
This is a great choice for your vehicle and it will be able to secure 2 bikes that are up to 35 pounds. I do just recommend adding a Cable Lock like # SA981 if you don't have one already to help protect your investments.
