Troubleshooting Curt Triflex Brake Controller that Brake Output Jumps Around

When I set my city trifles on a lower setting to control the trailer brakes, the setting does not stay it jumps up. Then the trailer jerks my vehicle.

The Curt Triflex brake controller # C24VV that you referenced is notoriously buggy. Try unplugging it for a few seconds and replugging it back it to see if resetting it would allow it to function again.

If that does not work I'd strongly recommend replacing it with a more reliable brake controller like the Prodigy P3 part # 90195.

I'd recommend using 10 gauge wire like part #10-2-1 (sold by the foot) for the brake power and ground wires as this will be more than adequate and will ensure you get plenty of amperage to activate the brakes.
