The Firestone suspension system, # F2071, installs directly over the leaf springs on the axle of the truck and directly below the frame rails. The brackets overhang the spring and frame by about 1/2 inch as you can see in the instructions I have linked for you. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation which will give you a better idea of how the system installs.
