Could Zerk Fitting be Added to Trailer Spindle to Make it an EZ Lube Spindle
Updated 06/24/2019 | Published 06/22/2019 >
Question:
My trailer spindle has a threaded hole on the end, but no zerk. Can I install a zerk and it will place grease where it needs to go? The current hub cover is solid but if I can use a zerk I will buy some of your covers with the rubber seal. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
EZ lube spindles are more than just a zerk fitting attached to the end of the spindle. There would need to be a hole in the spindle between where the bearings ride for the grease would then fill the hub by. To be perfectly honest using EZ lube spindles or Bearing Buddies typically causes people to over fill their hubs and blow out the grease seal so you're better off packing the hubs by hand.
I attached a link to a bearing packing video for you to check out as well.
