Yes, if you have a lifted truck then you would want to purchase the weight distribution system and shank separately as this will then allow you to obtain a shank that has the correct amount of drop for your truck without having to purchase an extra one. For starters, you will need the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37101ET and then you can obtain one of the following:
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - part # EQ90-02-4200 (4" Drop)
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - part # EQ90-02-4300 (6" Drop)
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - part # EQ90-02-4400 (9" Drop)
In order to find out which one is correct (I suspect the 6" or 9" drop shank) you will need to measure from the top, inside edge of your trailer hitch to the ground and then subtract the distance from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler while level.

So I measured the inside top of my truck hitch and it’s 28 inches. I have a dodge ram with a 5 inch left and 37 inch tires. The trailer coupler is 17 1/2. So that’s technically a 10 1/2 drop. I’m guessing the 9 inch drop should suffice or do I need to go another route Thank you. Pete
