Sounds like you are wanting to know if the Fan-Tastic Vent 3350 Series Upgrade Kit # FV803358 is the correct kit for your roof vent. Basically this is designed to fit the Fan-Tastic Roof Vents to turn it into a 3350 series of Fan-Tastic Vents like part # FV803350 to give it the ability to have automatic lift with 3-Speeds, reverse directions, a thermostat, and a rain sensor.

Instead of trying to determine if this fits by dimension (it fits the same standard dimension of roof vent which is going to be right at 13.5 by 13.5 inch) your best option will be to compare the picture I attached to what you have in your RV right now. If the picture matches what you have then this upgrade kit is the correct part you need.

Our remote control for our FanTastic Fan 417 not the 3350 is broken. I understand that it cannot be replaced so we need to replace the fan itself. Can we just replace the guts using part FV803358? We really dont need the entire outside. We would rather not remove the entire thing & need to recalk or whatever the roof opening.

Unfortunately the Upgrade Kit # FV803358 isn't compatible with your older Fan-Tastic 417 model system and there aren't any replacement parts available. I wish I had a better solution, but your only option will be to replace the whole assembly. The Fan-Tastic Roof Vent # FV807350 will work really well.
