Solution to Replace Remote on Fan-Tastic Vent 6600R-417 Without Replacing Entire Unit

Question:

We need a replacement remote control for our fantastic fan 417, which, apparently, is no longer available. Rather than buy another entire fan assembly which would need removal from roof and, possibly, future rain all leaking, can we buy the fan replacement for 3350? Would that work? And would it come with a remote?

I do have a solution for you that doesn't involve replacing your entire unit, but the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV803350, does not have a receiver built into it, so it doesn't have the option to operate through a remote. Therefore, using its replacements parts get you what you need.

Take a look at the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit # FV807359. This has everything you need (includes remote) to basically replace the "guts" of your Fan-Tastic Vent 6600R-417 unit and upgrade it to have all the features of the # FV807350. I confirmed through my contact at Dometic (Fastastic Vent) that this confirmed to fit your existing unit.

is this info and upgrade kit still valid? i have the same issue, my remote on the fantastic vent 6600 with the model 417rf remote stopped working and i see that the remote cant be replaced, so just wanted to dbl check that this is a viable solution for upgrading the kit before i purchase? thank you

@Ck The parts mentioned above are discontinued but we have the upgrade kit part # FV807357 that would work.

@JamesonC i was about to buy this part you recommened for my replacement fantastic vent 6600 with model 417rf remote and i checked the internal dimenions of the shrowd which is 13 3/8"... that's the only dimension i can get without disassembling the whole fan but then noticed the actual vent is 14" referencing the install manual....so i wanted to be sure this will fit before i buy the replacement. can you confirm that this is the correct part and sizing?
