Question:

Hi I like to know the weight of these 2 hitches. Like to see the dimensions to compare. Assembly flange holes are the same to fit with bumper Flanges are welded different... Is 24949 better than c11422 Thank you

The Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch # 24949 weighs 20-1/4 pounds and the Curt # C11422 weighs just a tad more at 22 pounds.

Both Class I hitches are confirmed to fit your 2015 VW Golf SportWagen TDI and they feature just about identical dimensions and brackets so they will install the same on your vehicle. Both will have about a 2 inch hitch pin hole to bumper clearance measurement and a 14-1/2 inch ground clearance dimension when mounted. Both have the same 2,000 pound towing and 200 pound tongue weight capacities so in terms of fitment, positioning, and strength neither option has an advantage over the other.

Between the two options I do recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 24949 because of its slightly lighter weight and the fact that unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require the use of an additional stabilizing strap when using the hitch for non-trailer loads such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. These straps can be a bit of a pain to use and isn't something you need to worry about with the Draw-Tite model to maintain its warranty like you would with the Curt.
