The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver lets you add towing or cargo capability without changing the look of your vehicle. The cross tube mounts behind the rear bumper so only the 1-1/4" receiver is visible underneath. It gives you a clean, from-the-factory appearance while keeping full function for towing or carrying bike racks and cargo carriers.
With a 2,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and a 300 lbs maximum tongue weight, this Class II hitch is built for light-duty hauling. It’s strong enough to tow a small trailer or camper and to handle common accessories like cargo baskets or multiple-bike racks. You can make better use of your vehicle’s space for road trips, errands, or outdoor adventures.
This hitch uses factory attachment points and requires no drilling or welding. The bolt-on design makes it straightforward to install with regular tools—perfect for DIYers who want to get the job done without a lift. Once mounted, it doesn’t reduce ground clearance, so you can keep your normal ride height while adding hauling capability.
Made from a combination of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel alloy, the EcoHitch offers strength you can count on. The material is lightweight yet tough, and its black powder coat finish resists rust and road corrosion over time. The alloy is made from recycled materials too, so it’s designed to be environmentally conscious while staying strong mile after mile.

It's totally understandable why the slight upward angle might not seem ideal, especially considering how it could affect the bumper. In most cases, this kind of hitch design is intentional to help with ground clearance. Hopefully, that helps clarify why it’s built that way!
