For your 2006 Lexus GX470, it sounds like you are looking for the trailer wiring. You mentioned the factory tow package so it likely had a factory 7-way. If that is the case, then you will simply need the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Flat Connectors # HM43374 which connects to the factory wiring harness already present near the driver's side frame rail in the rear. This connector has the 4-way wiring connection you will use on the left side under the separate cover.
If you don't have this wiring harness, then you will need to hardwire the 4-Pole Flat, Hardwire Kit, and Circuit Tester # C59496. This will tap into the wiring behind your tail lights. This 4 way trailer wiring will work with a small rental trailer.
