Question:
I have a bare car trailer with exposed steel ceiling joists and an aluminum roof. There is no interior. I’m concerned that the ACM 135 that I ordered from you won’t mount properly without some sort of ceiling that would effectively make the roof thicker and separate the exterior and interior components. I can’t find requirements about that.

I do have something that you can reference but so far (May 2019) we haven't had the opportunity to install an AC unit like the Advent Air # ACM135 on an enclosed trailer like what you have.
We have, however, installed the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-06200K on a 2018 Nissan NV 2500 which I have linked the installation video for you to check out. In this video we use some plywood to take up some gaps and to give some more stability to the vent unit. Since both the MaxxFan and the Advent Air units use the same 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening size you should be able to take this and apply it to your situation (although you might have to adjust for any differences with your application).
