Will the Ventadome Replacement Operator with Knob Work on a Plastic Roof Vent with Crank Handle

Question:

I need the crank and arm for my 99 Jayco 5th Wheel. My unit has a plastic cap and a crank raher than a knob, but a knob is ok if it will work. Any thoughts? I will check the spacing for the screws to make sure it is the same. It looks like the same part except the knob and your description states it is for the metal dome

Knob or crank handle is just a change in design, we need to determine how the lift bar attaches to the plastic cover on your roof vent.

The operator you selected, # BV0115-04, will work with roof vent covers that have a slot that the rivet head at the end of the operator arm slides into and is then clipped in with the metal clip shown in the photos on the product page. Older plastic roof vents have a slotted bracket that is riveted in the underside of the roof vent so this operator arm may work for you.

We have another style of operator, # BVD0462-00, that has a plastic clip installed on the rivet at the end of the operator arm. This plastic clip slides over a ramp that is molded into the bottom of the roof vent cover.

I had a couple of these roof vents in stock and produced a short video showing how the operator is attached so you can determine the correct part for your trailer, see link.

The spacing on the screws that attach the operator arm to the roof vent is 2-3/8 inches on center.
